Changes in 2025

We’re making a few changes to our Superweek programme in 2025. We like to think that your relationship with ATE is closer than your relationship with, say, your water company, so we want to explain the changes we’ve made transparently.

Shorter holidays

The most obvious difference between our programme in 2025 compared to previous years is that we’ve dropped the length of a holiday from eight days down to seven.

Prices has been rising across the board in recent years, and our centres have been particularly affected. The cost of heating and maintaining large and historic buildings has always been massive (part of the reason we don’t own our own venues), and costs are only going up.

With our costs rising, we had three choices: we could increase the price of a Superweek; we could reduce our costs, for example by reducing our accompanied travel system, removing day trips from our holidays, or making our discounts less generous; or we could reduce the length of a Superweek but keep the offer unchanged.

It is important to us that we keep the price of a Superweek as low as we possibly can, and to continue offering the high quality holidays you expect us to provide. With that in mind, we took the decision to decrease the length of a Superweek and to lower the cost of a Superweek to you.

Where’s the Final Fling?

This year, you won’t find the Final Fling, our holiday for 14-16 year olds, in our programme. Don’t fear, though – we are running The GreATE Escape for children up to the age of 16, so older Superweekers will still have a home this summer!

We love the Final Fling, and being able to give our 16-year old Superweekers a fitting send off. However, since the pandemic we have reduced our programme size to make it manageable for our slimmed-down central team to deliver. With fewer Superweekers coming through our doors, we have fewer older children interested in the Final Fling. When numbers drop too low, the holiday becomes less fun for everyone, and harder to justify financially.

Older children will be able to come to The GreATE Escape, and our Director will make sure the activities on offer are pitched perfectly for everyone attending. All of our other holidays are advertised for 8-14 year olds, but we are always flexible with that upper age range, so please get in touch if you have an older Superweeker who’d like to attend.

Mini Superweeks

You might also notice two shorter Superweeks on our programme for 2025. The Easter Egg-Stravaganza and Young Adventurers’ Club are both six days long. We want to be able to offer a shorter break for children with packed schedules, or who are testing the Superweek waters. We also want to have some lower-cost options on our programme.

In 2024 we piloted the shorter week, with a five-day summer Superweek. Feedback from you and from our staff was that this wasn’t quite long enough, so we’ve added a day in 2025.

We’re really excited to be adding two new centres to our plans in 2025 – Barton Camp for Easter, and The Elms for TE2. You can read more about them on our website.

If you have any questions about the programme, or about the changes we’ve made, please feel free to drop us an email, give us a call, or request a call back.
