The Wild Things
Let the Wild Rumpus Start
If you go into the woods today, you’re sure of a big surprise: a Superweek under canvas! We’ll be spending the week with nature, mixing the usual ATE fun and games with bush crafts and exploring the big outdoors. We’ll be skilling you up in forest-living and survival techniques. In the past we’ve built fires and cooked meals on them, honed our woodcraft and knife skills, and built shelters to keep out the weather. Let the Wild Rumpus start!
We’re excited to be bringing The Wild Things to a brand-new centre! Hudnall Park is set in 85 acres of Chilterns parkland, near to Berkhamsted in Hertfordshire. We know you’ll love it!
We’ll be camping in shared group tents, on camp beds or airbeds.
Dates: | 24th – 31st July 2020 |
Age: | 8 – 14 years |
Location: | Hudnall Park |
In previous years we have…
We have so much fun up our sleeves that we never run the same week twice, so every Superweek is entirely unique. Here are some highlights from previous Wild Things Superweeks:
Held a Wild Things Opening Ceremony, complete with Cosy Campfires with hot chocolate, bedtime stories and songs
Learnt how to build our own campfires and cooked our breakfast on the fire
Built some very high-tech shelters and went on an expedition
Helped some pixies defeat the mysterious Mr C.E.Ment who wanted to turn our woods into a cement factory
Decorated our tents with fairy lights to transform them into twinkly tented palaces.
Built rope swings and made wild musical instruments
Hudnall Park: Our Home for the Week

We’re taking our tents to Hudnall Park, 85 acres of beautiful Chilterns parkland and woodland with a former art deco mansion at its centre.
