The GreATE Make

Think. Make. Create.

The GreATE Make 2019 will be a hub of creativity, invention, experimentation and curious minds. Come along and share, play, make and learn about the brilliant world around us. In previous years we have held Team: ImaginATE and Team:InvestigATE together at Moor Park, but we had a chat and decided that we’d like to be able to offer more collaboration between the two themes, so the GreATE Make you will have more choice over how you spend your workshop time. As well as all the ‘usual’ fun of a Superweek, there will be brilliant extra activities to choose from: messy activities, puzzley activities, team challenges, opportunities to work with new friends and borrow bits of their brains. If you are arty, crafty, makey, thinky, interested in things that make you go ‘wow!’, keen on science or technology (or dare we say it … maybe even maths), this is the week for you.*†

* No expertise required at all. Just enthusiasm.
† You definitely don’t need to be all these things. You can choose the activities you like the look of the most.

In previous years we have…

We have so much fun up our sleeves that we never run the same week twice, so every Superweek is entirely unique. Here are some highlights from previous Team:ImaginATE and Team:InvestigATE Superweeks, to give you a taste of what The GreATE Make might be like:

  • Made tye-dye t-shirts for everyone on the Superweek
  • Made our own rockets and launched them high into the sky
  • Made battery-powered toy cars
  • Set up a dark room and developed our own photographs

  • Spent an afternoon learning circus tricks

  • Made willow lanterns and held a nighttime lantern procession

Moor Park: Our Home for the Week

When not being home to ATE Superweeks, and 3,336 kg of fun, Moor Park is to be found being a boarding school near Ludlow, Shropshire. It has playing fields, woods (equipped with very climbable trees and a squodgey bog), fountains and lake. It has its very own indoor heated swimming pool, and a huge gym for Whole Holiday Benchball Tournaments. In the main house there is a big hall we use as a games room or theatre, and really comfy themed dormitories. You could find yourself sleeping in the Pirates Lair, under the treasure map!

Everything’s Included:

  • Full Bed and Board

  • Equipment

  • Activities

  • Supervision

  • A Day Trip

  • Accompanied travel to and from 17 Travel points across the UK

We recommend a maximum of £10 pocket money be sent with your child on their Superweek. This is entirely optional.
