The Wild Things & More Wild Things

Connecting with the Big Outdoors

Our previous ‘venture into nature’ holidays have been so much fun, we are very excited to be running another two camping Superweeks.

We’ll have experts on hand for all manner of outdoor learning and exploring; shelter building, fire lighting,  and using tools so you can challenge yourself in new ways and learn all about the natural world. In previous years we have done tracking and trailing, scavenging, mapping the area, building base camps, storytelling, cooking on the campfire and more in our Wild Workshops. Let the Wild Rumpus start!

We’ll be camping in shared, group tents, on campbeds or airbeds.

In previous years we have…

We have so much fun up our sleeves that we never run the same week twice, so every Superweek is entirely unique. Here are some highlights from previous Wild Things Superweeks:

  • Held a Wild Things Opening Ceremony, complete with Cosy Campfires with hot chocolate, bedtime stories and songs

  • Learnt how to build our own campfires and cooked our breakfast on the fire

  • Built some very high-tech shelters and went on an expedition

  • Helped some pixies defeat the mysterious Mr C.E.Ment who wanted to turn our woods into a cement factory

  • Decorated our tents with fairy lights to transform them into twinkly tented palaces.

  • Built rope swings and made wild musical instruments

Penn Wood: Our Home for the Week

Nestled in behind a large common, just off the Cotswold Way and near to the picture postcard towns of Stroud and Nailsworth, is our hidden gem … Penn Wood campsite. The entire site is ours for the duration of the Wild Things Superweeks and we will make base camp next to the thick area of certified Ancient Woodland, and make use of the lovliest fire circle we’ve seen in ages; looking out over one of the main Cotswold Ridges. The site is mainly used by Scout groups the rest of the year. We love the secret glades tucked in between young, newly planted woodland, and connecting paths for us to explore.

Everything’s Included:

  • Full Bed and Board

  • Equipment

  • Activities

  • Supervision

  • A Day Trip

  • Accompanied travel to and from 17 Travel points across the UK

We recommend a maximum of £10 pocket money be sent with your child on their Superweek. This is entirely optional.

Free Accompanied Travel to and from the Superweek

Included with every Superweek is free, accompanied travel from any of our 17 guaranteed travel points. This means you can get to any Superweek, at any centre, easily.

A Monitor will meet you and your child at the station and travel with your child all the way to your holiday. We’ll bring your child back to the station to meet you at the end of the Superweek (slightly sleepier and maybe a bit muddier) a week later.

“This is by far the best camp Emily has ever been on. There is something about the intentions behind it which means it seems saturated in an empowering, inspiring philosophy which mean the kids really benefit. Thank you for doing this. Companies like this really stand out, and I wish more were like you.” – Parent
